Job Title: Director of Sales
Location: Must reside in Chicago, New York, Cincinnati, or Philadelphia
Overview:
Seeking a strategic and experienced Sales Director to lead commercial strategy and sales execution within the oncology diagnostics space. This role is critical in managing and developing a high-performing team focused on advanced oncology and molecular diagnostic testing. The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader with deep expertise in oncology, strong business acumen, and a passion for developing talent and driving market share growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute the commercial strategy for oncology diagnostics across the assigned territory
- Hire, coach, and retain high-performing Oncology Managers and field sales representatives
- Set clear goals and KPIs; monitor performance and drive accountability across the region
- Develop regional action plans and market strategies aligned to corporate objectives
- Manage sales pipelines and forecasts to ensure regional revenue targets are consistently met
- Collaborate cross-functionally with medical, operations, customer experience, billing, IT, and marketing teams
- Support key account development and large-deal execution
- Oversee successful launch planning for new precision oncology tests and services
- Incorporate analytics, market intelligence, and competitive insights into strategy
- Foster a culture of performance, transparency, and collaboration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field required
- Minimum 5 years of sales leadership experience in the healthcare or diagnostics space
- At least 2 years of experience in oncology sales (molecular diagnostics strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated success managing sales teams with oncology call points: community and academic cancer centers
- Strong business and financial acumen, including P&L ownership, price realization, and cost management
- Deep understanding of sales strategy, pipeline management, and team development
- Experience operating effectively within matrixed organizations
