We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cytotechnologist to join our laboratory team in Dallas, TX. This role is integral to the accurate detection and diagnosis of cellular abnormalities, including cancer, by performing a range of cytology procedures with precision and adherence to established protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and accurately identify, accession, and label cytology specimens.
- Prepare and process slides for cytological evaluation, ensuring compliance with SOPs.
- Conduct initial microscopic analysis of cell samples to identify abnormalities in cellular structures.
- Collaborate with pathologists by providing clinical data or microscopic findings to assist in pathology report preparation.
- Submit slides with abnormal findings for further examination by pathologists.
- Maintain laboratory operations by adhering to safety standards and specimen preparation guidelines.
- Monitor and report equipment or supply issues to the department supervisor to ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure high productivity and workflow efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Associate’s degree in Cytotechnology or related field, with completion of a one-year internship or a long-term cytology training program.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Cytotechnologist preferred.
- ASCP license in Cytology
- Proficient in laboratory techniques with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Effective communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
