Business Development Manager – Diagnostic Products

Location: Remote (preference for candidates near a major airport)

 

A rapidly growing biotechnology organization focused on developing innovative diagnostic products used across clinical laboratories, pathology groups, and hospital systems. The company creates technologies designed to improve diagnostic accuracy, streamline lab workflows, and enhance patient outcomes.

This role sits within the Diagnostic Products Division, supporting the commercialization and expansion of proprietary diagnostic technologies across the U.S. market.


Role Overview

The Business Development Manager is a high-impact commercial role responsible for driving national revenue growth. The individual will own the full sales cycle, build new customer relationships, expand existing accounts, and collaborate with distribution partners to increase product adoption.

Although the title is “Manager,” the position operates at a senior strategic level with significant autonomy and influence on commercial success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive overall revenue growth for the diagnostic products division.
  • Identify, target, and close new business opportunities across laboratory markets (POLs, reference labs, hospital labs).
  • Expand business within the existing customer base through strategic account management.
  • Collaborate with distribution partners to generate leads and jointly manage sales pipelines.
  • Present technical and financial value propositions to laboratory leadership and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Provide market insights and customer feedback to internal teams to support product enhancement and competitive positioning.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, business, or related field.
  • Proven success in diagnostic or laboratory product sales.
  • Experience selling to laboratories, pathology departments, and hospital systems.
  • Strong “hunter” mentality with the ability to engage decision makers.
  • Exceptional communication and technical presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred

  • Experience working with channel or distribution partners.
  • Understanding of laboratory workflow and purchasing behavior.
